This book is specifically focused on training. Two world champions indroduce their personal training styles and give some advice. This shows you how the best Thai athletes plan their training sessions.
With the help of this book, you'll be able to plan your own effective training program - there is even a full chapter about solo training for effective training on your own.
If you want to train at home, the book gives you useful equipment advices.
There are training plans for all performance levels, warm up exercises, Nutrition Basics, Eating Plans and many, many training apects and excercises!
As in the other book I read of this author (Counter techniques), everything is well explained and illustrated with photos to make it easy for you to follow.
I can recommend this book for just all of you that want to get a deep knowledge of effective training - what ever your perspective is! An interesting read for any Muay Thai fan

Whether you are a Muay Thai athlete or just someone who wants to try something different to stay in shape, this book caters to all different kinds of Muay Thai enthusiasts. The author knows what he is talking about, having studied the sport in Thailand for many years. This book primarily focuses on training techniques and training plans for beginners and experts. The pictures and instructions are clear and easy to follow and after reading the introduction chapters you just want to start training.

What I personally liked was that this book is not all about the physical training, but it is also going into detail about the mindset you have to be in when you want to start your Muay Thai training. It really makes you understand where you have to stand to take on this sport, if it's for your benefit and in your own home only or if you want to become a professional fighter.

Other than the training plans and exercises, this book is also filled with lots of interesting facts about the sport and interviews with renowned Muay Thai champions and trainers.

For a Martial Artist who wants to learn more about every style, this was a nice little glimpse into the world of Muay Thai. Even though most martial arts training regiments are similar to a degree, once cannot judge a martial art without immersing themselves into their training methods. I reccomend this book for anyone who wants to take Muay Thai seriously, and is just starting.

A nice little book if it finds the right audience

Someone recommended this book to me and I can't remember who it was; it turn there are certain people I know to whom I would do the same, and others that I would warn off.
If you are earnestly interested in learning some practical math yet utterly uninitiated in numerical ways this may be the book for you. If, however, you are firmly stuck in your innumerate ways, I doubt that this book is compelling or shocking enough to convince you otherwise. If you are numerate, but curious about how the other half lives, you will need to manage bouts of boredom sitting in the choir while Paulos preaches. I mostly fall into the last catergory, yet I managed to find some revelations and some interesting bits here and there. Also, the author has a friendly, conversational style with a touch of irreverance -- I appreciate that.
Yet I nearly gave up on this book before I reached the halfway point, and I RARELY give up on books. What pulled me through is the author's excellent advice from the foreword: feel free to skip the bits that are too complicated for the novitiate or too obvious for the adept. A generous gift from the author -- take advantage of it and you will enjoy the book all the more. :)
This book focuses heavily on statistics although it does touch on a number of other flavors of math, including fractions and magnitudes. Still, the best concrete examples come from stats, yet I am sure that better books must exist for providing the "gee-whiz! I didn't realize what a boob I was for not realizing X, Y and Z about real life statistics" revelations that may shake the sluggish right brain of the innumerate. This book has the advantage of being thin, though, and it does fit nicely into one's pocket. ;) The book also comments on potential social factors that turn budding math whizzes into the innumerate masses -- I didn't expect it, and it is refreshing.

Must-Reading

"Innumeracy" goes beyond the expectation of a non-mathematician, user-friendly book. It wakes up your awareness of what passes as "statistics", "experts", "economics", and various numeric analysis in the popular media.

I bought the book after seeing it referenced in another science book. I was interested in a basis for how much bias, or straight ignorance, was posing in the guise of expert. I was more than satisfied with "Innumeracy" in this regard.

Read it twice. Put it down for a month, pay attention to what's in the news, etc. then read it again. You will be a much better consumer of numbers.

Dr. Sapkota is a board certified Internal Medicine doctor with full time practice in the state of Nebraska. He finished his residency training from John H Stroger Hospital of cook county in 2007. Dr. Sapkota believes that medical knowledge is most effective when it is transferred from doctors to patients. He strongly believes that everyone can and should learn the basics of medical science in order to help themselves. Dr. Sapkota has been writing medical blogs, newspaper articles and publishing Youtube videos to help patients learn the basics of diseases, symptoms and diagnosis. His book project was a result of his strong belief that more life could have been saved if more people knew how to listen to their bodies. His website has popular and helpful articles about different medical topics ranging from "throwing up blood" to "how to recognize pancreas pain". In this book I will showcase prevalent art movements of the 20th century and give instructions on creating kids art projects that will help them understand the ideas and emotions behind those movements. The art movements follow a progressive timeline starting with Expressionism and leading into Contemporary Art. All of these projects can be done with multiple age groups, but there are some that require finer motor skills. Projects for older kids are noted in each section.

For anyone attempting to do projects with kids there are certain supplies that become staples in your cabinet. Aside from the usual suspects (craft paper, safety scissors, washable paint, etc) there are versatile items that will pop up again and again. One of these items is Mod Podge, an adhesive glue that dries completely clear and can be used as a sealant on paper crafts and collages. Once you begin using Mod Podge you will never know how you lived without it. Another versatile supply is condiment and spray bottles. These can be used in a variety of projects that involve paint or gluing, and can cause some messy fun.

For this book, I had the help of a few different kids of different ages who have very little experience with art projects. Some of the finished pieces may look a little rough or unrefined, but that’s ok because the concept was not lost on them. So join us in the fun as we walk through some of the history and creativity that is Modern Art!

This book really does contain great art projects for kids.

I love this book! It really does have great projects for kids. I can't wait to try them with my kiddos. Contains projects in these styles/movements: expressionism, cubism, surrealism, art deco & art nouveau (a project based on Gustav Klimt's "Tree of Life" is really cool!), folk art, psychedelic art, pop art,pixel art, street art, and comic book art. Each chapter gives a very basic intro. to the style/movement and lists some major artists of the style, which is a perfect jumping off point for more individual research. Next, a project is introduced with simple instructions and list of supplies needed. I was pleasantly surprised by this book.

This has great art ideas for many ages-I can also use it for crafty gifts! This was a good find, I recommend it to anyone who has kids and needs homeschool art ideas, anyone that needs rainy day time killers, or someone like me who is not to creative on my own but can follow instructions. :)

Unique and interesting to explore

This is not a Tarot deck though it has 78 cards, but the images are surreal and imaginative, very suitable for interpreting dream. Not recommended for beginner because it's a complicated oracle deck. Quality of colours and such is good, as expected from Lo Scarabeo.

Dreamy Surreal Tarot Deck

The Dream Cards consist of surreal imagery that really do look like they emerged from someone's strange dreamscape. Figures morph in and out of other people and objects and you can never be quite sure of the setting in which the images occur. Some of the card images can be unsettling to some people, but overall, they are fascinating.

Prior to using this deck I examined the imagery for several days before I even attempted to do a reading just because it is so highly unusual and thought-provoking.

The deck is very useful from an intuitive sense. The accompanying booklet does give thorough explanations as to the cards' meanings (many of which do not correspond with a traditional tarot deck), however, I find the deck more useful if one does not refer to the booklet at all. The images alone help your intuitive side to come up with its own interpretations. As you examine the images it makes your mind look at them as if you're remembering one of your own dreams. We've all done that - had a really weird dream, we wake up and think to ourselves, "what the ...?" Then we sit there and attempt to figure out what our dream may mean to us. That is how these cards make you think. Sometimes you can't make heads or tails out of the imagery and your intuitive brain kicks into full gear and you find your OWN meaning to the card, then you move on to the next card in your spread.

I really enjoy this deck and have been recommending it to my tarot students because it is a valuable tool that will help users connect more fully with their intuition. You don't need the little guidebook that accompanies this deck. Trust your own intuition when you view the images and you'll see just how incredibly accurate your own readings can be for you.

I recommend this deck more for those who have used a variety of tarot and oracle decks, but I also believe that beginners can get a lot out of it, as well.

NOT a tarot deck but a dream interpretation oracle deck

This is a fantastic oracle deck with 78 cards like a tarot deck but it doesn't have a major arcana, minor arcana nor court cards. In fact, they are numbered 1 through 78. Unlike what the previous reviews have mentioned, it is NOT a tarot deck at all. Even though there are 78 cards. The images on the cards are very evocative and allow for your intuition to roam free. There are titles for each card which correspond to a particular them to look out for when it appears in ones dreams. The LWB (Little White Book) is disappointing to say the least. While it does contain interesting spreads, upright and reversed meanings, it really doesn't go into how to use the cards themselves. Which can be confusing for those who are unfamiliar with oracle decks or dream interpretation. Not to mention the layout on how to use each spread has been left out or vaguely written. I would recommend getting a good dream dictionary to use alongside it. The cardstock is disappointingly flimsy which means the cards will not last the test of time. The multilingual borders (while useful) can be quite distracting to look when reading the cards for many people. I would like to see a guidebook written for this deck as it has so much potential. But overall I would recommend this deck, if not for the evocative images that trigger your intuition.
